BSXI STILL GET THE SILVERWARE |
HILLFIELDS KING OF THE PENALTIES |
| AFTER THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE GFA FINAL LOSS AND FINALLY SURRENDERING THE DIV1 TITLE TO NEW CHAMPIONS WOODIES, BSXI MANAGED TO FINISH IT ON A HIGH WITH THEIR FIRST WIN IN THE BCFA CUP FINAL DEMOLISHING CUP KINGS WIDCOMBE 3-0 ALTHOUGH THEY WILL BE DISAPPOINTED WITH NOT WINNING THE TREBLE THEY SURELY HAVE TO CREDIT THEMSELVES FOR BEING IN TOUCHING DISTANCE OF ALL THREE FOR THE SECOND SUCCESSIVE SEASON. |
HILLFIELDS SECURED THEIR FIRST BIT OF SILVERWARE WITH A MARATHON 11-10
WIN ON PENALTIES AGAINST DIV1 OUTFIT BUCU. HILLFIELDS HAD THE BETTER
CHANCES OF A TIGHT GAME BUT IT WAS BUCU WHO TOOK THE LEAD A HILLFIELDS
MISTAKE LEAD TO A SCRAMBLE WHICH BUCU PUT AWAY WELL. HILLFIELDS LOOKED
OUT OF IT BUT 7 MINS FROM NORMAL TIME GOT AN EQUALISER THROUGH
LUKE GIBBONS. THE GAME FINISHED 1-1 AFTER EXTRA TIME. 15 PENALTIES EACH
WERE TAKEN BUT IT WAS LEFT TO MAN OF THE MATCH DIM BRIMBLE TO DISPATCH
HIS SECOND PENALTY IN THE SHOOTOUT AND WIN HILLFIELDS THE SHIELD.

SANTOS CRUSH SLIP |
WELTON ENDING SEASON ON A HIGH |
|
IN DIV 1 SANTOS HAMMERED SLIP 4-0 TO END THEIR CHANCES OF FINISHING
THIRD ONE BETTER THAN LAST YEAR. ELSEWHERE THORNBURY AND CHRISTCHURCH
SAW OUT A 1-1 DRAW TO BRING THEIR SEASONS TO A CLOSE. GET WELL SOON TURPS!! |
WELTON ARE FINISHING THE SEASON WELL AFTER A 4-1 THUMPING OF HAYHILL WHICH LIFTS THEM OUT OF THE BOTTOM TWO AND WILL GIVE MANAGER LENNY SOME MUCH NEEDED CONFIDENCE GOING INTO NEXT SEASON. SAS WILL END UP 6 POINTS BEHIND SANCTUARY WITH BOTH OF COURSE PROMOTED AFTER A FRANTIC FINISH SAW KENSINGTON SNATCH A LATE 3-3 DRAW WITH THREE GOALS IN FINAL 5 MINS. ALSO C3 GOT A DOUBLE 3-0 WALKOVER V ISRAEL AFTER THEY FAILED TO PRODUCE A TEAM. |
|
WOODLANDS ONE STEP AWAY! |
HILLFIELDS FINISH ON HIGH AND CHAMPIONS SCORE 16 |
| DESPITE DOING THEIR BEST TO MESS IT UP WOODLANDS FIND THEMSELVES 4 POINTS CLEAR AND ONLY 1 WIN AWAY FROM SECURING THE DIVISION 1 TITLE. WOODLANDS DREW 4-4 AGAINST SHIELD FINALIST BUCU AND WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP HOPES WERE OVER UNTIL THEY HEARD ACROSS THE PARK THAT THEIR BIG RIVALS COUNTERSLIP AND DONE THEM A HUGE FAVOUR WITH A MASSIVE 3-0 WIN OVER CHAMPIONS BSXI. THE WIN MEANS THAT WOODIES ARE 4 POINTS CLEAR ALTHOUGH BSXI HAVE A GAME IN HAND HOWEVER WITH ONLY ONE GAME LEFT FOR WOODIES A WIN ON WEDNESDAY WOULD GIVE THEM THE TITLE ALTHOUGH ANOTHER WIN FOR COUNTERSLIP ON TUESDAY AND WOODIES WOULD HAVE WON WITHOUT EVEN KICKING A BALL. ELSEWHERE THORNBURY SCORED A LAST MINUTE GOAL TO SECURE THEIR DIV 1 STATUS FOR ANOTHER YEAR BUT CONDEMN NAILSEA BACK TO DIV 2 AFTER ONLY ONE SEASON IN THE TOP FLIGHT WITH WHAT IS LOOKING LIKE ONE OF THE HIGEST POINTS FINISHES FOR A TEAM TO BE RELEGATED IN OVER 5 YEARS. SANTOS AND CHRISTCHURCH ALSO BATTLE OUT A 1-1 DRAW. | HILLFIELDS FINISHED A TOUGH SEASON IN STYLE WITH BACK TO BACK WINS OVER THE MUCH FANCIED ROCK, WINNING 2-0 AND 4-0. LUKE GIBBONS SCORING 4 OF THE 6 GOALS AND MATT CRUMB GETTING HIS FIRST HILLFIELDS GOAL. SANCTUARY FINISHED THE SEASON ON A HIGH WITH A 16-0 DEMOLISHING OF GORDANO AND SAS ALMOST MATCH THEM WITH A 15-1 WIN OVER HAYHILL. KENSINGTON BATTLED TO TWO WINS 3-1 AND 4-1 AGAINST 9 MAN C3, WIDCOMBE LOOK FAVOURITES FOR FOURTH SPOT WITH A 5-4 WIN OVER ISRAEL AND BS4 AND WELTON BATTLE OUT A 0-0 DRAW. |
|
THE SANCTUARY SECURE DIVISION2 TITLE IN STYLE |
![]() |
| After securing promotion over a month a go Sanctuary finally secured the championship with an impressive 9-0 win over Kensington. Sanctuary are 4 points clear of SAS with two games to play however one of those games is a guaranteed walkover therefore SAS cannot overhaul them. SAS have also secured the other spot for promotion as both teams produced a near faultless season. Sanctuary only dropped points to SAS and Hillfields whilst SAS' only loss was at the hands of Hillfields. Both teams look like they will end the season with only 1 loss to their name and awesome achievement. Sanctuary have been revitalised this season and the Introduction of midfielder and the leagues Golden boot winner Ricky Bush have turned them into a class act. | |

WOODLANDS EDGE ONE STEP CLOSER |
HANHAM END BSXI TREBLE CHANCES |
| Since losing to Counterslip, Woodlands have won back to back 2-0 wins against Pip n Jay and more crucially title Rivals BSXI, they are now top of the table with two games to play however should BSXI win their game in hand then it will be all even at the top meaning that Div 1 is heading for it's most exciting finish for year. At the other end of the table it looks as though Nailsea will be down if they fail to win this weekend. The other place looks to be between BUCU and Pip n Jay who play each other next Tuesday. | On Tuesday Hanham and BSXI met in the GFA final for the second year in a row, last year BSXI were comfortable 4-2 winners however this year, Hanham were a bit more aware of their opposition and managed to see out a late 2-1 win. The was BCFA interest on both teams with Hanham fielding 4 Hillfields players in their squad and it was Hillfields main man Joe Allen who opened the scoring with a left footed stike into the bottom corner, BSXI equalised through Fitzgerald and should have been leading at halftime but for some poor finishing from centre back Hamer. Hanham came out and then dominated the half and got their reward late on when pacey Striker Grinter rounded the keeper with 2 mins left to play. BSXI will turn their attention now to League and BCFA cup final. |

WOODIES TITLE HOPES SLIPPING AWAY |
PISTOLS SHOT 5 AS ROCK SLIDE |
| Woodlands title hopes were dealt a massive blow as they lost for the second time in the league to big rivals Counterslip 2-1. With BSXI being handed a 3-0 walkover to Widcombe, BSXI are now in the driving seat to win the title for the third successive year, the big clash between the two on Tuesday is now looking like a title decider with Woodies needing to win. Elsewhere Thornbury eased their own relegation fears while practically condemning Nailsea to the 2nd Division after only one season at the top after they won 3-0. | Bristol Pistols caused the upset of the day beating high flying Rock 5-1 to dent their push for third place. Widcombe put themselves in control for the third place spot with a a 2-1 win at Welton. Hillfields managed to gain some consolation on a poor end to their season with a well fought 0-0 draw at The Sanctuary. Hillfields were perhaps unlucky not to beat the Champions elect but will take heart into next season knowing that they can compete against the best. BS4 managed to put a to bed a streak of 5 defeats with a 3-1 against Gordano. |
