REDSHAW IN THE MOOD FOR TRANSFERS

BAPTISTS SLIP INTO A NICE LITTLE RED NUMBER.

Counterslip Baptist have today revealed their new kit. They have moved from their traditional orange kit of the previous few seasons to adopt a new red and white number. It was at first revealed that many fans were up in arms because of the change until it was revealed it was actually the original colours of the kit when the team was founded in the early 20th century plus with so many Liverpool fans at the club having a red kit was always inevitable.

Slip manager Nathan Redshaw has been busy wheeling and dealing over the summer months.  He has recalled Ben Sinclair and Nick Frost from their loan spells at Cardiff and Loughborough Unis respectively, feeling that they now have enough football under their belts to step up to the first team.

He has also captured the highly sought-after Tim Moody from Cheddar AFC.  Moody was also wanted by Weston St Johns, but Redshaw revealed that some advice from Woodies manager Simon Eakins on tapping up players proved decisive.  “Plus his girlfriend wanted him to play for us”, said Redshaw, “which I’m sure helped our cause.”  Moody was signed for a club record fee of £0 and the promise that he could wear the number 10 shirt (John Spring was unavailable for comment), and celebrated the move by promptly smashing up his face in a clash of heads whilst playing a friendly game of football, leaving him with a black eye and a swollen cheek.  “After seeing Stouty’s look for BSXI at the end of last year, we wanted someone who looked like a nutter in our team”, Redshaw added.  “I feel Tim has this quality in abundance.”

Mr Moody confirmed there was no truth to the rumour he left for Slip because he was fed up of looking like a bumble bee.

RYCROFT BOLSTERS SQUAD READY FOR DIVISION TWO ASSAULT PISTOLS REVEAL NEW BARCA STYLE KIT AS THEY GET READY FOR DIVISION 3 SHOOT OUT

On the day that 1st Division outfit Counterslip made their intentions for the Division one title obvious with the biggest signing of the summer, Hillfields announced that they too had been busy as they bid to join Counterslip in Division One next season. After last year dismal start of losing the first four matches and conceding a whopping 28 goals, manager Rycroft wants to ensure he doesn't see a repeat performance by bolstering his squad with a massive 8 new signings. The versatile John O'Driscoll from folded C3 has joined Hillfields on a free transfer. Skilful players Pete Butterworth of Bristol 5 and Daniel Adams have signed up, as well as the unknown Tom Hull and Mike Gibbs. They have also brought through some players from their youth systems so Daryl Perry, Mark Bayford and Aaron Lovell all join the squad. There are also rumours that Shield final keeper Tom Elliott may well Join in the January transfer window which could release the flexible Dan Fell into an outfield role should he wish it as well as the possible signing of a centre back. Manager Rycroft however dismissed rumours that Widcombe Corinthians solid midfielder Bob Hill was joining them confirming that he has simply been training with (and probably spying on) the Hillfields to aid his preparations for the forthcoming season. Hillfields has often had the smallest squad on all the BCFA teams and it has cost them vital points in previous seasons however with the 8 new additions and possibly more to come manager Rycroft will be hoping his team will have much more consistency this season.
