NEW MANAGER CHANGE LET SLIP?

An undisclosed source has confirmed that there may well be a managerial change at Counterslip next season. If this is True then there will be huge pressure on the new manger to at least match the feat of the excellent forth place finish slip achieved in 2007/08. It is no coincidence that this news comes about the same time as Jose Mourinho announces he will be confirmed as a new manger within the next week!!!

2008/09 SIGNINGS

TRANSFER NEWS
Dan Fell from Rock to SAS - Undisclosed

Dave Peregrine from Santos to Woodlands- (Cheese burger and a can of coke)

Bruce Griffin to Patchway (New Team) - Free Transfer

Christy O'Sullivan from Sanctuary to Hillfields

There has been some interesting transfer activity in the past few weeks since the 2007/08 season ended with 4 big names moving to new clubs. Keeper Dan Fell has decided to drop a division and sign for SAS leaving current number one Nathan James to manage the team. Quiz Master and also striker Dave Peregrine will not stay with Santos opting for a championship push with Cup holders woodlands next season. super centre back Bruce Griffin will be moving from the Sanctuary to new club Bristol Pistols (The Edge Church) and perhaps with one of the most shocking bits of transfer news, Christy O'Sullivan who has scored 15 goals in 22 games for the Sanctuary in two seasons will move to fierce rivals Hillfields, confirming their intentions to go for the division 2 title next season

HOW WILL 2008/09 SHAPE UP

APRIL 2008

On Monday 19th May 2008 the BCFA AGM was held with some interesting news raised. The biggest news was at least 3 new teams joining the league with a possible 4. The new teams are The Edge (Bristol Pistols), Exodus, Kensington Baptist and possibly Clevedon. This will mean keeping a 10 team division 1 introducing a 14 team division 2. The other big news was Thornbury winning the Solomon Trophy averaging over 9 which is amazing. Also Rock have elected to be demoted handing Santos a place back in Div 1. All in all it's fair to say getting out of a strong 14 team division is going be tough for this years Division 2 hopefuls.

Hillfields 3-SAS 4 - SAS get early Bragging Rights
SAS gained an early season win against division 2 championship rivals Hillfields in a late season friendly. It was a close fought match with SAS just deserving the win.
