THE BCFA CHRONICLE JAN 2009

BUCU SINK THE CHAMPIONS

TOP 5 ALL WIN - BUT WHICH 2 WILL PREVAIL

RELEGATION THREATENED BUCU CAUSED PERHAPS THE UPSET OF THE SEASON BEATING THE CHAMPIONS BSXI 5-3. THE LOSS HAS MEANT THAT THE SEEMINGLY LAUGHABLE COMMENTS THAT COUNTERSLIP COULD BE CHAMPIONS ARE BECOMING MORE OF A REALITY AS THEY RECORDED A 7-3 WIN AGAINST PIP N JAY WITH GOALS FROM PLAYER MANAGER NATHAN, DAN, SPRING, ASHTON 3 AND AN OG. THE LOSS PUTS PIP N JAY BOTTOM OF THE TABLE AFTER BUCU AND VCF SANTOS WON, SANTOS BEAT THORNBURY 2-1 TO MOVE AWAY FROM THE RELEGATION ZONE AND PUT SOME UNEXPECTED PRESSURE ON THONRBURY. WOODLANDS REMAINED SECOND AFTER A SOLID 2-0 WIN AT NAILSEA. All of the top 5 teams won today to create a mini table at the top and make the second part of the season very interesting. Sanctuary win again and kept another clean sheet 2-0 at C3 to stay well clear at the top. SAS stay second with a 5-2 win at Israel. Hillfields hit 9 at Welton as the win in style, a hatrick from Luke Gibbons, and goals from Nathan Thompson 2, Joe Allen, James Corfield, Dimitri Brimble and Alex Wignall with Luke Tucker replying from the spot for Welton. Widcombe stay 4th with a 3-0 solid win at Hayhill, Rock Stay fifth with a 2-1 at Kensington. It has set up a slight gap between 5th and 6th and it looks like it will be 2 from 5 to go up but will anyone halt The Sanctuary????

REDSHAW STRIKE SINKS RIVALS

5 STAR HILLFIELDS HALT THE ARMY

Under fire player manager Nathan Redshaw, produced a Roy of the rovers performance to score the only goal against big rivals and title chasers Woodlands and increase their own title aspirations. Elsewhere Widcombe increased their lead at the top with a 4-2 win over Thornbury.  Hillfields started off their new year by producing their best performance of the season beating promotion favourites SAS 5-2. The win moves them above SAS into second place and set up next week encounter with top of the table The Sanctuary, who kept up their charge to the title winning 3-0 at Hayhill. Elsewhere Israel beat Kensington 5-2, Welton beat Gordano 4-0 and Widcombe won 7-0 at Pistols. The only draw came between Rock and C3 who drew 2-2.
