After running the youth club + being part of Hillfields Park Baptist Church together over the past couple of years, Rich + Joe agreed to setup a team + enter the BCFA. Rich would be leaving the Sanctuary football team + Joe had agreed to hang up his boots for Hanham first team in order to run the team. But why?

Well we are both Christians + strongly believe that everyone needs God + requires him in their lives. Both of us have seen the devastation that leading your own life can cause + we wanted to use football to make a difference in the community of Hillfields. There is no pressure for any of the players to come to church or anything like that, our aim on Thursday's training + Saturdays is to enjoy ourselves through football whilst at the same time dedicating the match to God whom the whole team are representing. We pray before games, we try + keep the swearing from players down to a minimum + hope over the seasons our attitudes on the pitch have improved. We hope to use football to show an example of Christ.
