The
team was formed by Vic Trykush, from a group of un-churched
lads, along with a few Hay Hill guys. When Rob Trickey became
pastor of the church in 2004, he also took on running the
football team. That first season saw the team’s first league
win, followed by more, culminating in victory over Woodlands in
the shield. The next season saw the team promoted from Div 2,
and the following season, a respectable mid-table position was
achieved. However, a number of key players (mostly students)
moved on at this point and so the team opted to drop down a
Division. Further loss of players at the end of 2007-8
(including 44-goal Pete McMahon!) led to a number of players
from Hope FC joining when they had to fold. So although the
management remains closely linked with Hay Hill BC , the team is
now a mix of Bath- and Bristol-based players. Our aim is to
enjoy playing football together, in a way that reflects the
Christian basis of the club.
