ROTHERHAM DOUBLE GIVES WOODLANDS AN HISTORIC DOUBLE HILLFIELDS RETAIN SHIELD AS CAPTAIN LEADS THE WAY 2010 HONOURS LIST

Woodland Rangers beat fierce rivals Counterslip 3-0 to claim and club historic double and give then a great ending to a successful and action packed season.

Hillfields retained the shield trophy they won last season with a 1-0 win over 1st Division side VCF Santos, the game was very tight and it took a direct free kick from Captain James in the 5th minute of extra time to secure them the shield for the second successive season.

5 star Pip n Jay secure safety as Thornbury go down Damien leaves Hillfields for new Green Pastures
Former 1st Division champions, Thornbury were relegated to the 2nd Division for the first time in over 15 years as Pip n Jay beat Christchurch 5-1 to secure their safety.

Elsewhere with the title already won the battle for second place looks to be secured by Widcombe after they beat SAS 5-1. BSXI who have had a poor season by their standards heap more misery on the already relegated Sanctuary with a 6-2 win

Damien Wignall delivered a bombshell at the end of the shield final, confirming he will be joining Castle Green AFC (formally BS4) next season.

BS4's captain Jed Begley has also moved onto Bristol Pistols and will face his old club in the second division next season.
